Riverside Medical Packaging Ltd, a leading provider of turnkey solutions in the Medical Device industry, has successfully attained the internationally recognised ISO 14001 environmental management standard—an essential milestone in its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.
Following a comprehensive independent audit, Riverside's environmental management system met all the requirements for ISO 14001. This standard empowers organisations to enhance their environmental performance by using resources more efficiently and reducing waste. It also emphasises continuous improvement in an organisation’s environmental practices and systems.
As part of the assessment, organizations must demonstrate a stronger integration of environmental management into strategic planning, leadership involvement, and a proactive approach to boosting environmental performance.
Matt Roe, Managing Director of Riverside, commented:
"We are proud to have achieved ISO 14001 accreditation, which underscores our commitment to sustainable business practices. This includes reducing our carbon, water, and waste footprints—along with those of our customers. The accreditation provides a structured, integrated approach for all employees, making environmental management an inherent part of our operations. We are already seeing a positive impact on employee engagement, which aligns with our broader ESG goals."
The achievement follows a rigorous, six-month process led by Riverside’s CSR and Sustainability lead, Emma Ghent-Wheatley. This included a GAP Analysis and Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessments. Riverside has formed a dedicated team of key employees passionate about driving the company’s ESG/CSR initiatives, who meet regularly to advance its environmental, social, and governance agenda.
